Abstract
The ns network simulator (developed at LBNL) has an established reputation as an accurate and flexible network simulator. With large networks, though, faster simulations than ns provides are desirable. We believe that significant speedups are possible using the Telecommunications Description Language (TeD), a currently-evolving simulation language which is built on the foundation of a Time Warp-based discrete event simulator. Significant speedups are possible as TeD models are structured for parallel simulation. In this paper we describe how ns TCP models are transformed into TeD models so as to retain accuracy and obtain high performance.
