THE BUG ROOM
at

The "Bug Room" is named for the fact that the back room of the three-room suite hosts truly horrifying hordes of giant flying ants. It's actually not inhabited by bugs most of the year, but that's because it's practically unheated and can drop down near freezing in the wintertime. It would seem like a natural room to turn into a long-term storage closet and close off in the winter, but sadly doing so causes the pipes that run to the nearby bathrooms to freeze. The Barn is a complex ecosystem.

Despite the bugs and the cold in the back room, the Bug Room is one of the nicest places to stay in the Barn. It has its own woodstove, which can bring the whole place up to toasty comfort even on frigid winter days, and it only leaks along the small part of the ceiling that falls under the roof. One of the three rooms in the suite is a (half) bathroom, reducing the room's tenant's need to share bathrooms -- although its toilet doesn't really work well, and the sink's water leaves a white chalky residue on anything it touches.
