It all began on Tuesday, September 9, 1996 at 9:00 p.m. On that evening, The Barn movie series began with the Chevy Chase comedy classic, Fletch. The series caught on quick and kept its momentum, running regularly for over 18 months before finally showing its last feature, Stealing Beauty, on the night of March 20, 1998. In the process, the Barn sponsored the showing of 65 different movies at two different locations: in the Barn itself, and on the big projection screen in Room 115 of Sudikoff Laboratory. We began showing them on Tuesday and Saturday night, but shortly went to one movie per week, usually on Saturday night. In September of 1997, over twenty guests showed up for the Barn One Year Anniversary Movie Marathon and Jamboree, held upstairs at the Barn. We had two TVs and full stereo sound and showed four movies between 9pm and 5am.
