The Barn: Residents

INHABITANTS

Over the course of the three years in which graduate students from the Dartmouth Computer Science Department reigned at the Barn, nineteen different people have lived there. Of those, only seven were actually CS grad students, though most others were only short-term residents. At all times during that three-year period--from July 15th, 1996 through July 14th, 1999--there were at least four and at most seven people who called the Barn home. There were three Annas (two at once), two Marks (at the same time for a while), and two Daves (at the same time). Here's a short profile and photo (if available) of each "Barnacle" from this era.

Aaron Domina
Aaron lived at the Barn from June to October, 1996. He is a Dartmouth graduate student studying pharmacology. He stayed in the room above the wood room until Anna moved in (and Kirk moved out), at which point he moved into the loft in The Tower.

Anna, and her cat Pippin, lived at the Barn from September 1996 to June 1998. Her room was the big bedroom above the wood room. Anna is a CS grad student at Dartmouth. Anna Poplawski and Pippin

Anna Tolstaia
"Anna T" lived at the Barn from September to December, 1998. She was in the middle section of The Tower, just belowe "Anna V". How confusing! Anna is a student in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Program at Dartmouth.

"Anna V" lived at the Barn from September to December, 1998. As mentioned above, she lived in the loft part of The Tower, just above "Anna T". She also is a student in the MALS Program at Dartmouth. Anna Vichniakova

BJ Premore
BJ lived at the Barn from June 15, 1996 through May 29, 1998. His room was the small one in the far northeast corner of the first floor. BJ is a CS grad student at Dartmouth.

Brian has lived at the Barn since January, 1999. He lives in the small room next to the kitchen. He is a student in the Thayer school at Dartmouth. Brian West

Dave Isecke
"Isecke" (to disambiguate between Daves) has lived at the Barn since September, 1998. He's in the the bedroom above the wood room, and is a CD grad student at Dartmouth.

"Wagner" (as opposed to "Isecke") has also lived at the Barn since September, 1998, and is a CS grad student at Dartmouth. He lives in the upper part of The Tower. Dave Wagner

Fred Henle
Fred has lived at the Barn since June 15th, 1996. He started out living in the Bug Room, but has since moved across the hall to the the small room in the northeast corner. Fred is a CS grad student at Dartmouth.

Garrett lived at the Barn during Dartmouth's Spring Term, 1997. He was in the room next to the kitchen. Garrett was a CS major at Dartmouth and received his diploma that June before moving out. Garrett James (in drag)

Igor Budantsev
Igor lived at the Barn for the first half of September, 1998. He stayed in The Tower after showing up unexpectedly. Actually, the Annas (T & V) had invited him to use their room while they were away, though no one else knew about this. Igor is in the MALS Program at Dartmouth.

Jamie has lived at the Barn since June 15th, 1996. He started out in the tiny room next to the kitchen, then switched to the upper part of The Tower before moving yet again back downstairs into the Bug Room. Jamie is a CS grad student at Dartmouth. Jamie Ford

Jennifer Jameson
Jen lived at the Barn during June, 1998, in the big room above the wood room. She was a medical student at Miami, doing a rotation in the Upper Valley. She is also a Dartmouth '94 alumna.

Kirk lived at the Barn during the summer of 1996. He was on vacation from his undergraduate studies at Oberlin, and stayed in the loft of The Tower, just above his brother, Mark. Kirk Montague

Mark Krenitsky
Mark lived at the Barn from July through October of 1998. He moved in on the same day that the Barn announced that they were looking for a new housemate, and stayed in Fred's room for a while (Fred slept in the common room) before moving to the room above the wood room. He works for Geographic Data Technology in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

Mark lived at the Barn from June 1996 to March 1997 and then again from June 1997 through September 1998. He started out in the middle section of The Tower (below his brother, Kirk), but later moved downstairs to the room next to the kitchen. Mark is a CS grad student at Dartmouth. Mark Montague

Michael Bahl
Michael lived at the Barn during the second half of June, 1998. He stayed in the room next to the kitchen for a few days while Mark was on vacation, and then in Fred's room (Fred slept in the common room). But he wasn't as tolerable of some of the Barn's "features" as the rest of us, and sought other living arrangements. He was a visiting computer science student from Colorado State.

Tyson lived at the Barn from the end of May to July, 1998. He was a law student at Ohio State University doing an internship in Orford, Vermont. Tyson moved into the room in the southeast corner of the first floor, which BJ had just vacated. Tyson Crist

Yoo Rey Yom
Yoo Rey lived at the Barn from November 1996 to January 1997. He took over the loft of The Tower, above Mark, when Aaron moved out. He was a student in the MALS Program at Dartmouth.
